Kelantan Open 2026 — HW Polo Take the Title in Kelantan

The Weekend and the Field

The Kelantan Open 2026 polo tournament wrapped up its on-field action over the weekend of Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2026, hosted at the Kelantan Polo Club's grounds in Kemumin, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan. Four teams made up the field: the host side, simply named Kelantan, alongside HW Polo, La Raza and Terengganu. It is a small, tightly-run event by the standards of most sports covered on this site, and that scale is part of the story — the club itself is the only outlet that documented how the weekend played out, which shapes how this recap has to be written.

According to the club's account, a schedule or announcement post for the tournament appeared as early as 31 July 2026, ahead of the Saturday fixtures. That earlier date is worth mentioning only as background colour around the build-up; the two results that actually matter — the grand final and the subsidiary final — were both played, and had their outcomes posted, on the same day: Sunday 2 August 2026. That is the date this recap treats as the tournament's conclusion.

Results

Two finals decided the Kelantan Open 2026: a grand final between HW Polo and La Raza, and a subsidiary final between hosts Kelantan and Terengganu. Both matches, and the club's posts confirming their outcomes, are dated Sunday 2 August 2026.

The subsidiary final was the more straightforward result to record: the club's post gave Kelantan a 7–3 win over Terengganu with no ambiguity around either number. The grand final result is more layered. What is solid is that HW Polo beat La Raza to take the title — that part of the club's reporting was consistent and repeated. The 5–1 scoreline attached to that win also appeared consistently across the club's posts, but it is the single least certain figure in this recap, since it had to be read from an auto-generated image description on the club's result post rather than from a plainly legible caption, and one attempt to re-check it came back unable to confirm the number cleanly. It is included here, attributed to the club, precisely because it kept recurring rather than being guessed at — but readers should treat the losing side's score as the softest data point in this piece, even while the identity of the winner is not in doubt.

A post dated 3 August 2026 also appears in the club's feed, but nothing in it could be tied back to the Kelantan Open with any confidence, so it plays no part in this recap. As far as this tournament goes, the story begins and ends with the weekend of 1–2 August.

The Kelantan Polo Scene

Polo is a niche sport in Malaysia, and Kelantan's own club sits at the centre of whatever activity exists in the state. The Kelantan Polo Club is based at Kemumin, Pengkalan Chepa, and its own account describes it as open for club membership, alongside polo and riding lessons for newcomers to the sport. Contact with the club is available by email through its official channels, according to the same bio information.

Beyond the Kelantan Open itself, the club's account also references other activity — categories that read as separate tournaments or club events rather than anything tied to this specific weekend. None of that other activity is treated as part of the Kelantan Open 2026 results in this recap, since nothing links it to the 1–2 August fixtures specifically. For a small regional sport like this, the club's own channel is effectively the only public record of what happens on its grounds, which is exactly why the attribution note at the top of this page matters: everything here traces back to one source, and that source is named plainly rather than smoothed over.

Can You Bet on Polo at Maxim88?

No. Polo does not appear in Maxim88's sportsbook lineup, and nothing in this recap should be read as suggesting otherwise. Malaysian bettors looking for markets on the sports Maxim88 actually covers — football, basketball, badminton, tennis, esports and more — can find the full list at the sports hub. This piece exists purely to record what happened at a local tournament, not to point readers toward a betting market that does not exist.
